The performance Dancing (fancy) investigates aspects of the able and the disabled, the young or old body, the body that is not necessarily accepted on stage.
The main focus of the choreography, which began at Folkwang University in Essen and continued growing at Cologne thanks to the Tanzrecherche NRW scholarship, is Gilles Deleuze’s question: “What can a body do”.
Maria Koliopoulou combined her research regarding the body with breathing, the voice and movement, while creating a common ground for the group to co-exist which changes each time according to the place and time of the performance.
The composition of the piece constantly redefines one body through the other, searching for simplicity in movement using humour, inside a fairytale-like universe.
The space does not have accessible toilets.
