ATLAS E.P. steadily continues its collaboration with THEAMA theatre group. This time, we take a journey within ourselves through the European project “We Want More”, with the groups THEAMA - Inclusive Theatre from Greece, Compania Berardi Casolari from Italy and Plavo Theater from Serbia.
“ODYSSEY - A Journey Within”
Three theatre groups from three countries.
Three artistic approaches.
One performance.
In a world of constant change and uncertainty, each of us moves through our own landscape of encounters, choices, trials and questions. Along the way, we encounter others — and ourselves. The hidden places within us: our fears and desires, our weaknesses and strengths, our guilt, our hope, our longing to belong.

“Odyssey – A Journey Within” brings the inner world of the individual into focus — the longing to be accepted, recognised and truly seen — just as we are, in our truth, free to be who we are.
So, it is with great pleasure that we render accessible “Odyssey – A Journey Within” on October 27th with Surtitling for equal access purposes in Greek and English and Audio Description in Greek, while the team will also have available Interpreting in the Greek Sign Language.
A few words about the performance:
Inspired by Homer’s Odyssey, “Odyssey – A Journey Within” leaves behind the epic’s familiar narrative and turns instead towards the inner journey of the human being. Odysseus’ wanderings, trials, losses and encounters become a metaphorical landscape through which timeless questions emerge: Who are we? What do we believe when certainty begins to fade? Where does personal responsibility meet the collective? Where does suffering end and the possibility of change begin? And how do we find the strength to keep moving when the way ahead becomes difficult?
Like Odysseus, Penelope or Telemachus, we are all, at once, heroes and anti-heroes. We make choices — good and bad. We fall, we lose our way, and we rise again. And, like Odysseus, we search for our own destination: a place we can call home, a place of belonging and peace. A way back to ourselves.
The performance unfolds as an abstract mosaic of theatrical images. Three distinct artistic visions come together like the panels of a triptych, creating a single, shared stage work.
A few words on the teams:
Three European theatres meet in this artistic journey: THEAMA Inclusive Theatre from Greece, Compagnia Berardi Casolari from Italy, and PLAVO Theatre – Theatre Laboratory from Serbia.
The performance was created within the European project “We Want More”, whose vision is to expand the boundaries of accessibility in theatre.
Bringing together different artistic poetics, experiences and ways of expression, “Odyssey – A Journey Within” explores the possibility of a theatre that belongs to everyone — a space where performers and audiences alike can recognise something of themselves, encounter experiences different from their own, and feel part of a community of equals.
Without exception.
