The play for children and teenagers "Telitsa and the Universe", based on the book of the same name by Katerina Thanopoulou, will premiere by the THEAMA theatre group, with accessibility services on Wednesday, September 3rd 2025 at 20:30 at the Rematia Theatre in Chalandri as part of the Rematia Festival 2025 - Solidarity Nights!
The play will be presented with audio description and surtitling for equal access by ATLAS E.P. as well as with interpreting in Greek Sign Language. The accessibility services are integrated into the performance as an essential part of the artistic creation.
The performance is mainly aimed at children and teenagers aged 6 to 14 and, apart from its artistic value, it aims to eliminate stereotypes about the exclusion of people who bear any social stigma through co-perception.

A few words about the performance:
The small, curious Telitsa embarks on a great journey of exploration through the Universe. She seeks to discover what lies out there, what exists, and at the same time, she seeks to discover who she is and what her name is. She encounters fireflies, nebulae, and stars. She talks to white giants, black holes, and yellow dwarfs. She travels with protons, neutrons, and electrons, crossing galaxies. What is this beautiful and strange creature of the Universe? What can she learn on this magical journey? What can we learn from her search for her identity? A scientific fairy tale, designed especially for children, which, without stereotypes, takes us on a journey into the magic of the world around us! Are you ready to be part of this journey through the universe? Fasten your seatbelts and let's go!
Eliana Perifanou, founder of the children's stage of the professional theatre group THEAMA, adapted Katerina Thanopoulou's fairytale "Telitsa and the Universe" for the theatre. The group's main objectives are to achieve high artistic standards, to educate young (and not only young) audiences about disability - as the performance is always followed by an educational discussion with the audience - but also the integration process through not only access to the theater space (built environment) and the content of the information, but also the participation of professional actors with disabilities in equal working conditions.
