A few words about the plot (from ERT's website):

1975 Crete

The second season is set in Crete in 1975. This was a time when Greece was slowly moving on from the dark days of the junta and democracy was trying to find its place in the new Greek state. Matala's carved rocks are home to a mix of old and new characters, all trying to find their place in a fast-changing world.

Secrets, love and revenge

At the same time, some troubling story from the German occupation is coming to light, raising the possibility that it might affect the present. A story that everyone knew, but very consciously chose to forget, and those who lived through it and survived, will seek revenge sooner or later.

Pavlos' (Dimitris Kitsos) return to the land of his ancestors and his acquaintance with Iphigenia (Aphrodite Liantou) will bring to the surface a forbidden but at the same time mad love. Paul tries to take power into his own hands, while Iphigenia tries to keep it. One cannot succeed without the other failing.

"The Beach" returns for a second season full of intrigue, thrills and surprises.

An ode to Crete, the beauty of nature and the power of forbidden love.
