"The Great Chimera" - ERT1’s new series - ACCESSIBILITY IDENTITY

ATLAS E.P. continues its partnership with ERT for the second consecutive year providing accessibility services for ERT1 and ERTflix’s content.

The much-anticipated series “The Great Chimera” will be available with subtitles for equal access by ATLAS E.P.

M. Karagatsis’ masterpiece novel gets transferred to the small screen for the first time ever, in a six-episode production. “The Great Chimera” comes to life by an exceptional cast and crew, as it is directed by Vardis Marinakis and written by Panagiotis Iosifelis. 

The series which premiered on ERTflix on New Year’s Day, will be aired on ERT1 from this Sunday, January 4th and every Sunday forth at 22:00.

A few words about the story (from ERT’s website): 

The much-anticipated adaptation of this novel, a turning point in modern Greek literature, makes a great effort to depict the 1930’s atmosphere and characters as accurately and respectfully as possible. 

Our story’s protagonist, Marina, is a passionate woman that madly chases her happiness, gradually leading herself and everyone around her to destruction. 

An epic, eventful work, full of confrontations and intense feelings and at the same time a deeply internal work that dares to uncover the heroine’s complex inner world, a woman claiming her desires, at a time when this was not socially acceptable.

ACCESSIBILITY IDENTITY

Due to the series polyglot nature, ATLAS E.P. follows the rules of the Greek Subtitling Guide for Accessibility Purposes, adding white subtitles between the integrated translations of the dialogues as well as the depiction of the series’ soundscape.
